ROBIN'S COSTUME: ONE WOMAN'S DISSECTION

One of the key attributes to Robin is, of course, the costume. There have been many incarnations of it. From the early Black & White series to Chris O'Donnell's body armor. It has taken many forms, but for me, nothing compares to the suit Burt Ward wore in the television series. Why? Read on...

Some people have written about how the idea of Batman & Robin is the ultimate homosexual fantasy, and a modern day representation of "Greek Love" (Look it up!). I'm not sure I agree, but Robin's costume certainly lends itself to various sexual concepts.

THE MASK: Batman gets a cool looking cowl, Robin gets the Lone Ranger's mask. It gives him a very S&M submissive look, as this kind of looks like a blindfold

THE GLOVES: A lot of superheroes wear them. Robin's latex look here suggests a little something beyond the norm.

THE TUNIC: Looks like a corset, more than a tunic. Get him a pair of panties (which they did) and some hose (which they did), and he could be in the next Victoria's Secret catalog.

THE CAPE: Who else gets a yellow cape? It's part of the "Robin, the Boy Target" gag that appears in the comics every now and then

THE TIGHTS: Face it, he's running around in panties. In some episodes, he's wearing leggings (hose?). The tighter the better, in my opinion.

THE BOOTIES: Let's be honest, these aren't the most masculine boots a person could wear, are they? They're footies, plain and simple, and it's another part of the feminization of Robin's costume.

Why, then, is this such a turn on for me? Simple, it leaves little to the imagination, but it does allow you to imagine. Robin has always existed to make Batman look larger than life. That was the point when he was created. The costume he wore was supposed to reflect that. I believe part of the attraction I have for Robin is based on the very female aspects of his costume. I've gone to Halloween parties as Wonder Woman, Black Canary and other superheroines before, but the biggest eye-turner was the time I made a Robin costume, cut my hair short, and went as that.

MY ROBIN COSTUME: Take one red corset and using precut cloth sew a big R over the right breast. Get yellow silk from Cloth store and make cape. Green panties (easy to find), Green gloves (not so easy to find), and  Green footies (I used socks). Spend evening saying "Holy This!" and "Holy That!" until everyone tells you to shut up.
